Trace-level analysis of organic compounds
The Environment Institute of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, has published an invitation to tender for the purchase and installation of a high-resolution gas chromatograph (HRGC/MS) spectrometer for the trace level analysis of organic compounds with special emphasis on polychlorinated dioxins and furans (PCDD/Fs). The instrument must be offered in an operational state and include the following elements: - HRGC: a computer-controlled gas chromatograph, interface and autosampler, a split/splitless injector, with the possibility of installing other injectors; - HRMS: a sector field instrument with a diffusion pumped ion source with resolution higher than 10 000, and detection limit in the low femtogram range. The required mass range is 30-1000 m/z single charged; - Computer system and software for automated data acquisition and data analysis for PCDD/Fs; - All the necessary hardware and software for the running of the instrument, including a stabiliser for electricity supply.
