The European Commission, DG XXII, has recently published an invitation to tender for studies assessing the results of the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme. The study should focus on results in the following fields: - Methods of anticipating new skills of adapting systems; - Development of accreditation procedures for skills; - Initiatives encouraging the use of support technologies in training; - Language training and learning; - Transnational cooperation for sandwich courses, including apprenticeships; - Development of skills and innovation in companies particularly SMEs; - Mobility of vocational training in Europe; - Methods and content to introduce those with difficulties into the job market, in particular the long term unemployed; - Equal opportunities and women's access to vocational training; - Vocational training in the environment sector; - Vocational training in the cultural sector; The study should comprise: - Production of a document with description of the Community context and problem; - Analysis of all the results obtained through pilot projects supported by the programme and the submission of concrete proposals which prove useful to national and Community decision-makers; - Presentation of their conclusions and proposals in thematic conferences organised by the Commission as from the second half of 1999. The contract will be divided into lots corresponding to each of the fields identified above. Tenderers may submit a proposal for one or more fields, however the tender must be submitted separately for each field.
