Report on high temperature and acid corrosion of stainless steel
The European Commission, Directorate General XII, has recently published a series of reports on properties and in-service performance in the field of technical steel research. There are ten reports in the series, including the publication "High temperature and acid corrosion of stainless steel". This reports on a study of hot oxidation mechanisms in air and in exhaust gases with a view to developing alternative stainless steel grades for silencers and catalytic converters.
