CD-ROM provides access to research information
For ECU 40, the European Commission, DG XIII, is making available a CD-ROM, entitled CRIS (Current Research Information Systems). Described as a "nutcracker", it offers industry rapid and easy access to a wealth of research and technical information. The CD-ROM is based on the CRIS 98 conference in Luxembourg last March at which a Cybercafé on the Internet contained the contributions of the speakers and demonstrators and acted as a tool for the participants to try out existing services and new developments through guided surfing in the world of research information. As many participants praised the Cybercafé as an inspiring tool, DG XIII decided to publish it on this CD-ROM.
