DIRECTION’s penultimate progress meeting focuses on end-of-project outcomes
The DIRECTION project will conclude in March next year and all eyes are on how to engage in the all-important project outcomes geared to replicability, transferring our painstaking work to the marketplace. The Bolzano agenda featured a series of sessions dedicated to the main results areas. These include the transferability plan, support measures and tools for replicability, standards and regulations, economic analysis, and ICT analysis and data monitoring. As the project enters its final months, all these areas need to be put together and finalised, and of course these products must be made available to enable the greatest possible leverage. This is why an important part of the meeting focused communication and dissemination – best practice book, project brochure, and webinars are some of the tools to be deployed. It was also the opportunity to assess current status. For the CARTIF III building and NuOffice we have implemented all foreseen energy saving measures, developed the metering and monitoring plans, and key performance indicator calculations are running and being stored. This data collection is a massive operation requiring clearly defined responsibilities across many partners. Data was gone into a first analysis once reached one year of complete monitoring and fed into the Smart Cities Information System which follows on from Concerto, and now is currently being analysed more in depth from different points of view. At the end of the first day, attendees were able to take in the works being carried out at the Black Monolith demonstration site. External legal issues delayed the start of the works and this has led the building to be withdrawn as a DIRECTION demonstration site. However, construction is going ahead and will follow the precepts of our project to which the public owners are very much committed. At the Bolzano Technology Park, an info point has been set up to enable both citizens and professionals to learn more about access very low energy buildings among others through DIRECTION project’s video news releases, presentations and posters about each demo site.
