A study concerning the impact and risks involved for SMEs adopting information technologies is being requested by the European Commission, DG XXIII.

The transformation of the internal organisation of companies, and the development of business networks through the use of information technologies are of vital importance to SMEs, and tenders submitted should reflect this.

The study should aim at obtaining and disseminating evidence regarding the impact of IT investment and the role of business networks, as well as the specific risks, inhibitors and difficulties that firms encounter in their efforts to modernise and adopt information technologies.

This invitation to tender is launched under the Third Multiannual Programme for SMEs.
