Investigate satellite synergy with ASTRON
The Joint Research Centre's ASTRON project investigates the synergy of satellite telecommunications, earth observation and satellite navigation so that it can develop newer, forward-looking services and applications from the convergence of digital information from satellites. The JRC now seeks proposals for four study contracts for ASTRON - one for each of the following areas: - 'Saving resources' applications (applications in support of ecosystem preservation e.g. floods, fires, security); - 'Business applications (applications introducing geo-information in emerging business information streams); - Transport applications (e.g. air, marine, road, train); - Non-transport applications (e.g. agriculture, geodesy, tourism, leisure). These should analyse, from different starting points, the relevant market segments and developments in terms of supply and demand and identify market areas where innovative space applications have the largest potential.
