Terms for Hungary's involvement in EU energy programme
The EU-Hungary Association Council has sanctioned an association agreement for Hungarian participation in the EU's programme for energy efficiency, SAVE II. Under the Additional Protocol to the Europe Agreement, Hungary may participate in Community framework programmes, specific programmes, projects or other actions in the field of energy. The terms and conditions of participation are to be decided by the Association Council. This recent decision sets out the terms for participation in SAVE II. It states that Hungary will have full participation in this five-year programme under the same conditions as other participants from within the European Union, set within the limits of Hungary's financial contribution. However transnational projects and activities proposed by Hungary will have to include a minimum number of partners from Member States of the EU. Hungary's financial contribution has been calculated as 309,024 euro per year, including 21,024 for the additional administrative costs related to Hungary's involvement.
