Work offered on forestry information service
An opportunity to contribute to the European forest information and communication service (EFICS) will be opened to tender at some point in the fourth quarter of this year. The work will involve a study providing direct support to EFICS by contributing to the compilation, functioning, accessibility and dissemination of forest information in Europe. It will contribute to long-term Commission strategies and assist the introduction of new technologies into the EFICS programme. The results of the study, which will be run within the framework of the Joint Research Centre's Space Applications Institute, should also support services in the Agriculture Directorate-General of the European Commission. The main focus will be to define, set up and test the architectural design and functionality of a prototype forest information system.
