Commission updates SMAP information website
Updated information about the European Commission's short and medium term priority environmental action programme (SMAP) is now available from a series of dedicated webpages hosted on the Europa server. SMAP is a framework programme for the protection of the Mediterranean environment, within the context of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership. The Commission hopes it will become the common basis for the direction of environmental policy and funding in the Mediterranean region. The new SMAP webpages include information on the political context of SMAP, its priority fields, supportive measures, how to apply for funding, and how SMAP is implemented. There is also information on the SMAP correspondents network, the non-governmental steering committee and other useful links.
