TimberFot.com goes on-line
Timberfot.com a pictorial database of best practise examples of timber construction is now on-line at: http://www.timberfot.com/(odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie) The service, for architects, engineers, builders, consumers and the media, is the result of a three-year collaboration between Europe's leading timber Councils, acting within the framework of Eurofortech, the training and technology transfer network for the forest and wood industry sector based in Ireland. Timberfot.com provides multilingual best practice examples of how wood is used in the construction industry. The continuing application of new engineering techniques offers a growing range of possibilities to use timber in all types of construction projects, says Eurofortech. Timberfot.com presents more than 500 projects, from sports halls to housing, apartment buildings, schools and bridges, with high quality pictures and technical references. Timberfot.com has been developed with the support of the European Union's Esprit programme (for research in the field of information technologies) and with the technical assistance of Dialogue Limited (Ireland). The website will be updated every month and the system will grow and evolve to meet the market demand for information on wood, say its developers.
