Advance notice of TEN-Telecom calls
The European Commission's Information Society Directorate-General has announced that it will publish the next call for proposals for the TEN-Telecom action at the beginning of March 2000. This action is dedicated to trans-European telecommunications networks. According to the work programme, the call will be open to projects aimed at the roll-out of applications and services in two areas: The first is trans-European generic telecommunications services (Internet-based services, e-commerce support services, multimedia support services and support to mobility). The second will be trans-European telecommunications applications (education and training, access to Europe's cultural heritage, services for SMEs, environment and emergency, health, city and regional information networks, new work methods). A tentative timetable for 2000 has been published on the TEN-Telecom website. It is expected that the call will be published at the beginning of March and will remain open until the end of June.
