Services for software development
The European Patent Organisation has issued an invitation to tender for the provision of services for and/or the development of software. The contract, which is divided into lots, will be for a maximum of 35,000,000 DEM and may require up to ten staff to work concurrently. The European Patent Organisation is an inter-governmental organisation set up when the European Patent Convention entered into force in 1977. At present it has 19 members in the EU together with Liechtenstein, Monaco, Switzerland and Cyprus. The executive body is the European Patent Office. The contract will be divided into six lots, and awards of contracts may be given in respect of one of more bids. Several awards may be given in respect of the same lot. The first lot is for mainframe host application development. The second requires workstation client application development. The third is for middle tier application server development, and the fourth lot refers to application server development. For lots one to four, three levels of expertise are to be offered. Lot five is for expert support services for those with extensive experience in system architectures, design strategies and development architectures.
