Air safety oversight capabilities - Prior information
In April 2000, the Government of Cyprus plans to launch a call for tenders for technical assistance in the framework of the project 'Technical assistance and administrative Cooperation-Transport-Development of Air Safety oversight capabilities'. The overall objective of the project, which is likely to be financed by the European Community, will be to provide consultancy services and technical support to the Cypriot Department of Civil Aviation to enable it to meet the conditions for membership of the Joint Aviation Authorities. This consultants will be expected to: - Advise on the drafting of primary aviation legislation; - Develop regulations, procedures and manuals; - Advise on the purchase of necessary equipment; - Develop licensing, certification and surveillance systems; - Provide guidance and on-the-job training to national personnel.
