JRC seeks simulations of wear and tear on artificial joints
A tender for the supply of multi-station apparatus to simulate the wear of artificial hip and knee joints has been announced by the Joint Research Centre. The tender is divided into two lots. The first is to supply multi-station apparatus to simulate the wear of artificial hip and knee joints designed to function under physiological conditions found in the human body, especially movement, load and lubrication. The second refers to the supply of apparatus to determine the wear and fatigue of hip and knee artificial joints. Both must include maintenance for the apparatus for four years after the initial one year guarantee.
