Study of dominance in the food market
The Directorate-General for Competition will shortly announce a call for tenders for a study of the conditions in which oligopolistic dominance may apply to the retail food market. The Commission has 150,000 euro available to finance this research. It is also seeking contractors for in-house services to compare procedures and monitor practices in respect of remedies within the framework of merger control in the European Union and the United States. The work should be carried out over a three year period for approximately 360,000 euro.
