Support for information actions organised by non-governmental organisations
The European Commission has announced a call for proposals for support for information actions organised by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for the year 2000. These should include information and communication projects relating to European issues. The call targets NGOs in the 15 Member States. The projects submitted must provide information on: - the objectives of the European Union, its institutions and policies and future developments based on Agenda 2000, the intergovernmental conference of 2000, enlargement of the European Union and/or - European citizenship, employment, social rights and the charter of fundamental rights including matters linked to non-discrimination. The call stems from the Commission's resolve to set up information and communication actions for citizens in partnership with the organisation of civil society and to ensure a better flow of information to and awareness among the players of civil society on matters relating to citizenship and European integration.
