Uses of antimicrobial agents in healthcare
Scientific evaluation of current information on the use of antimicrobial agents in human therapy in the European Economic Area is required by the European Commission. This evaluation will also take account of the monitoring activities funded under the programme for AIDS and certain communicable diseases. The database foreseen in this work will be integrated in the health surveillance system for communicable diseases within the European public health and information network. The evaluation must therefore comply with the rules and technical specifications of the interchange of data between administrations. The Commission plans to publish this call for tenders in the second quarter of 2000.
