The Enterprise Directorate-General has issued an invitation to tender for studies on innovation matters. The proposed studies will review and update priority issues of the analytical framework in innovation, particularly affecting enterprise. New academic and policy approaches will be analysed and synthesised to identify good practice and policy options on which new Community action can be inspired. The call for tenders is divided into six lots, each lot corresponding to an individual study. The lots are as follows: - innovation policy and the regulatory framework; making innovation an integral part of the broader structural agenda; - innovation policy issues in seven accession countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Turkey; - interrelationships between market concentration and innovation in enterprises; review of selected European and US experiences; - the power of customers to drive innovation; review of selected cases in Europe and in the US; challenges to enhance innovation in an enterprise policy; - product innovations; review of current trends and perspectives for innovation policy action; - patent application and licensing income in firms and research centres; review of selected experiences fostering innovation.
