Young scientists or young journalists?
INTAS has set up a writing competition for young scientists. The organisation (international association for the promotion of cooperation with the scientists from the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union) hopes that the competition will make young scientists' research more accessible. Articles, which should be submitted by 22 November, should be written in the style of a newspaper piece. The aim is to make the issue discussed understandable to a non-scientific audience. To encourage this, the panel judging the competition will be made up largely of non-scientists. The prizes for the competition are 400 euro for the first prize, two prizes of 200 euro and three prizes of 100 euro. INTAS will announce the best written two page articles submitted in January 2001
