The Space Applications Unit of the Joint Research Centre requires supporting studies for the Astron project which investigates the synergy of satellite telecommunications, Earth observation and navigation. The aim of the project is to demonstrate innovative services and applications based on the convergence of digital information from satellites and terrestrial technologies. The studies called for will support the Astron project team in the context of technology and application monitoring. This tender is divided into three different lots that correspond to the following work areas: - Lot A: synergistic space applications survey. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of non-space technologies that can work in synergy with space technologies and innovative relevant applications. - Lot B: prospective study. Mechanisms and priorities for implementation of synergistic pilot projects. The aim of this study is to discuss and propose mechanisms and priorities for implementing pilot projects relevant to the synergy of space technologies. As part of the study, a series of three workshops of technical experts and policy-makers will be organised. - Lot C: applications survey - EU expansion area.
