Regions to be involved in ERA - tender
In the framework of the coordination of research and technological development (RTD) policies, the European Commission is undertaking a call for tenders for the following study: 'Involving regions in the European research area: tuning the territorial conditions to optimize knowledge creation and transfer in Europe'. The call for tenders is one of the actions foreseen in the Communication of the Commission 'Towards a European research area' and is being launched to obtain a better understanding of the conditions for territorialisation of policies, i.e. an adaptation of RTD policies to the geographical socio-economic context The study will analyse the current situation in terms of RTDI in 12 big interregional areas (the 11 interregional areas considered by Interreg III-B and the outermost regions as a whole). It will also single out 12 motor regions (1 for each of the 12 interregional areas) which will be the subject of an in-depth analysis, focused on RTDI policy strategies, specialisation and complementarity through interregional cooperation, and the use of IBST parks.
