The European Commission has launched a call for tenders for a study on local loop (telecommunications) cost modelling.

The Commission hopes that the study will provide a detailed analytical model and a well-articulated process which it can then use to model costs in the local loop. This will particularly apply to the incumbent public switched telephone network (PSTN).

The study should predominantly focus on the cost of access technologies, particularly within the networks of dominant operators.
