A study on future requirements for number portability is required by the Information Society Directorate-General.

The convergence of telecommunications networks may give rise to further requirements for number, name and address portability, particularly as telephone services migrate to IP (Internet protocol) based networks, says the Commission.

It is now inviting tenders for study to examine future requirements for name, number and address portability and to recommend any action to be taken by the Commission, national regulatory authorities or network operators.
