The Environment Directorate-General is calling for tenders for a study on phosphate and phosphates alterative contents in detergents.

The study shall cover the 15 Member States of the European Union and the three accession countries (Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic). The study should aim to determine and compare the effects on environment and on urban wastewater treatment (efficiency, environmental impact, sludge production, cost etc.) with a view on cleaning efficiency of the alternatives on detergent composition, with and without phosphates.
