South Africa points out research opportunities
The South African Mission to the European Union's science and technology unit is offering a matchmaking service to link research groups in South Africa and the EU for projects under the Fifth Framework programme INCO-DEV (Co-operation with developing countries) scheme. Although the closing date for proposals under the current scheme has now passed, the mission's Together! Partner search service offers assistance in establishing partnerships for future rounds of INCO-DEV projects and for related EC-funded research programmes. A bulletin issued earlier this month offers advice to South African researchers in understanding the Commission's evaluation procedure and notes that there are opportunities for non-EU scientists to serve on the evaluation panels. The bulletin lists European research groups currently seeking partners for FP5 projects and reminds South African colleagues of the address of the website on which to register their own details.
