Information society spreads to Europe's neighbours
Some 15 million euro of funds from the community budget managed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) on behalf of the European Commission have been allocated to foster the development of companies in the Information society sector in Jordan. The facility provides payment under the Euro-Med partnership mandate entrusted to the EIB for the period 2000 to 2006. The funds will be invested in equity of private companies. The first move will be the allocation of US$4 million into Jordan's Hi-Tech fund.
