Commission extends recruitment deadline
The closing date for the submission of applications to the Joint Research Centre (JRC) has been extended until 27 October 2000. The Research DG is also inviting applications for temporary research posts concerned with the management of projects and contracts under the Fifth RTD framework programme. Tenders for these contracts should not exceed three years. Successful applicants will be entered in a database and may be used to fill any highly specialised vacancies which arise between 1999 and 2002. The European Commission organises selection procedures to draw up reserve lists for the recruitment of highly qualified scientific staff for research activities in the Joint Research Centre institutes at Ispra, Italy (institute for health and consumer protection, environment institute, institute for systems, informatics and safety, space applications institute), Karlsruhe, Germany (institute for transuranium elements), Geel, Belgium (institute for reference materials and measurements), Petten, The Netherlands (institute for advanced materials) and Seville, Spain (institute for prospective technological studies).
