New instrument for energy RTD setting
A pilot research and technological development (RTD) energy database has been developed in order to provide comprehensive and easy-to-access background information on RTD in the European Union and the Member States. The project, PSI (priority setting initiative) has been co-funded by the European Commission under the JOULE programme. The project is the continuation of the SENSER project, finalised in February 1998. Decision-makers in the field of energy research, technology and development require information to support priority setting. This information includes technology characteristics and prospects, energy demand and supply statistics, RTD activities and priorities in other countries and energy technology markets.
