Spin-offs and technology transfer call
The European Commission has published a call for tenders relating to a pilot initiative for the creation of spin-offs from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and for the transfer of technology from the JRC to SMEs, particularly those in less favoured regions. The following services are required to assist this project, dubbed the 'European centre for innovation and spin-offs' (ECIS). - Incubation: - - to assist the JRC identifying, selecting and coaching a sufficient number of promising potential entrepreneurs for ECIS from all sites of the JRC, and assist them to write business plans; - - support the JRC in negotiating technology transfer contorts with the potential entrepreneurs; - - promote the culture of entrepreneurship at all sites of the JRC; - Technology transfer: -- - in cooperation with the JRC, to draw up a list of all technologies suitable and available for technology transfer; - - in cooperation with partners in an associated network to be provided by the tenderer, identify and establish direct contact with potential clients of JRC technologies among innovative SMEs, particularly those in remote and less-favoured regions ('potential users'); - - support the JRC in negotiating technology transfer contracts with the potential users - Establish a tiling business plan for ECIS, including a proposal for the continuation of ECIS after the termination of the funding through which the present project is financed. - Contribute to the dissemination of good practices; contribute to presenting the results of the ECIS project.
