Commission's ERA and FP6 communication discussed by Parliament
A report by Dutch MEP Elly Plooij-van Gorsel assessing the Commission's ERA communication is being discussed by the European Parliament on 9 January. The report assesses the new instruments outlined in the communication, and the priorities and modalities foreseen for the Sixth Framework programme. The report states that all measures for furthering the ERA (European Research Area) must be set out in the Sixth Framework programme proposal, to be presented to Parliament by the Commission in February 2001. All decisions relating to the ERA will be adopted by the co-decision procedure.
