Parliament report requests more funding for forestry R&D projects
Finnish MEP Esko Seppänen has tabled a draft resolution supporting funding for research into forestry projects. The report, to be presented to the Industry Committee on 17 January, is a response to the European Commission's consultation document on a forestry strategy for the EU. The report advocates the idea of a forestry policy based on sustainable development, and of further research into ways of using wood as a renewable and environmentally friendly resource.
