Environment DG seeks support
The European Commission's Environment DG has given prior notification of a framework contract for scientific, technical and socio-economic assistance in relation to the implementation of the Nitrates Directive. The contract, to be awarded by the Commission will cover support to the Environment DG on technical, scientific, agronomic and socio-economic aspects of the directive and its implementation. The contractor will provide independent, impartial and punctual advice in the field of nitrate pollution, carry out legal, scientific and practical analysis and prepare briefings, position papers and slides for the meetings of the Nitrates Committee, including derogation requests. A annual budget of 120 000 euro is envisaged for the contract.
