Eurostat, the European Commission's statistical office, intends to award in the course of 2001 several contracts for the provision of services relating to the various fields of Community statistics programmes. A typical contract is for a period of 12 months, renewable up to a maximum of five years. The global budget provision is expected to be up to 76,500,000 euro (including renewals) over a maximum of five years, subject to sufficient funding becoming available. The estimated number of open calls for tenders for each statistical domain is: - statistical information system, research and data analysis: up to four open calls for tenders foreseen; - economic statistics and economic monetary convergence: up to nine calls for tender foreseen; - transport; external and intra-community trade statistics: up to 11 open calls for tenders foreseen; - business statistics: up to six open calls for tenders foreseen; - social and regional statistics and geographical information systems: up to 15 open calls for tender foreseen; - agricultural, environmental and energy statistics: up to 16 tenders foreseen; - documentation, staff training: up to 3 open calls for tenders foreseen.
