IST is calling for contributions to help define future activities
CORDIS, the European Commission's research and development information service, is hosting a new facility to contribute to the shaping of the upcoming Framework Programme 2002-2006. The Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme organises a set of consultations from March 2001 to October 2002 to elaborate strategic orientations and innovative means to implement future research projects. The Commission intends to build up on input from industrial and academic research stakeholders and come up with concise conclusions that can be used to sharpen preparatory documents for the next Framework programme. This new initiative has several goals inter alia to: - identify and define the main features of this thematic programme - mobilise the industrial and academic research communities for activities in Framework programme 2002-2006 and contribute to the development of partnerships - ensure European citizens in all EU regions can benefit fully from the development of the knowledge-based society as pursued in the objectives of the e-Europe initiative Users are invited to post their contributions on content and implementation of the future research activities.
