JRC announces call for tender for commercial assessment of technological inventions
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has announced a call for tender for consultancy and market studies on the commercial assessment of technological inventions. The aim of the service is to liaise with the JRC in carrying out market studies for the commercial assessment of specific JRC inventions. The market is divided into three lots: Lot 1 - services pertaining to life sciences technologies Lot 2 - services pertaining to software and information technology Lot 3 - services pertaining to all fields of technology developed in the JRC other than those covered by lots 1 and 2. Services relating to lots 1-3 include the following main tasks: i - define target markets (for each invention those industrial sectors which are the most appropriate and promising for its commercialisation must be identified); ii - define technical and non-technical specifications required for the invention to be commercialised in those target markets; iii - carry out a competitive analysis and identify and assess market barriers; iv - propose appropriate exploitation paths, develop a positioning and pricing model and estimate the potential return to the JRC; v - provide the JRC with a list of potential users for the technology, together with an assessment of their specific interest.For further information, please contact: Mr R.
