The European Commission has announced a fourth call for proposals for research and technological development (RT) actions under the Euratom specific programme for research and training in the field of nuclear energy (1998 to 2002).

Those eligible to participate in indirect RT actions (shared cost, concerted actions and thematic networks) under the specific programme, are hereby invited to submit proposals that address the following parts of the work programme:

KEY ACTION 2: NUCLEAR FISSION

2.2: Safety of the fuel cycle

- waste and fuel management and disposal

2.4 radiation protection

- risk assessment and management

- restoration and long-term management of contaminated environments

Indicative budget: 2.5 million euro

Deadline: 21 January 2002 at 17.00 (Brussels local time)
