Commission announces call for proposals for eContent actions
The European commission has announced a call for proposals for indirect actions under the eContent programme (2001 to 2005), which aims to stimulate the development and use of European digital content on the global networks and to promote linguistic diversity in the information society. Those eligible to participate in indirect actions under the eContent programme are invited to submit proposals that address those parts of the work programme given below. Action line 1: Improving access to and use of public sector information AL 1.1.1 (experiments in concrete projects: demonstration projects) Action line 2: Enhancing content production in a multilingual and multicultural environment AL 2.1.1 (fostering new partnerships and the adoption of multilingual and multicultural strategies: demonstration projects) AL 2.2.1 (strengthening the linguistic infrastructure: improving the effectiveness of eContent customisation) AL 2.2.3 (strengthening the linguistic infrastructure: addressing the skills gap) AL 2.2.4 (strengthening the linguistic infrastructure: broadening the knowledge base) Action line 3: Increasing dynamism of the digital content market AL 3.1.1 (bridging the gap between digital content industries and capital markets: awareness and available business tools) AL 3.2.1 (rights trading between digital content market players: demonstration projects) In the evaluation process, the different criteria will be weighed as follows: - quality, relevance, innovation and impact: 35 per cent - partnership, resources and management: 35 per cent - Community added value and contribution to relevant policies: 15 per cent - contribution to economic development and social objectives: 15 per cent The indicative total budget available for this call is 26.5 million of Community contribution.
