CORDIS supports easy access to European business incubators
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is launching a new web service providing information on European business incubators. Business incubators offer a supportive environment to newly created firms to establish and develop their business. They provide modular buildings, shared facilities, managerial support and backup services, thus improving the chances for successful growth. The new service provides direct access to over 500 business incubators in Europe, including addresses, contact details, key facts on activities as well as links to local web services. A geographic search feature enables users to identify and select the nearest incubators. The service will soon cover more than 800 organisations, including those in associated countries. This service is part of the 'helping innovators' section of the CORDIS web site, which aims to help organisations understand, participate in and benefit from innovation policies. Other useful addresses are also available in the Contact database service - a tool to locate and identify relevant contacts at national level, get information from specialised networks or directly reach officials or committee members in charge of research programmes.
