Periodic call in the area of 'Aeronautics and Space', 'Sustainable energy systems' and 'Sustainable surface transport'
The European Commission has published a call for proposals in the areas of 'Aeronautics and Space', 'Sustainable energy systems' and 'Sustainable surface transport' under the Sixth Framework Programme's 'Aeronautics and space' and 'Sustainable development, global change and ecosystems' thematic priorities. These are two areas covered by the 'Integrating and strengthening the European research area' specific programme. The areas covered by this call are: a) Aeronautics and space - Increasing the operational capacity and safety of the air transport system (area 1.3.1.4 of the work programme), technical domains c) and h) - Integrated Focused Downstream Research (area 1.3.2 of the work programme), topics 9 (phase one), 10 (phase one) and 11 (phase one) b) Sustainable Energy systems - Cost-effective supply of renewable energies (area 6.1.3.1.1.1 of the work programme) - Large scale integration of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency (area 6.1.3.1.1.2 of the work programme) - Eco-buildings (area 6.1.3.1.2.1 of the work programme) - Alternative motor fuels (area 6.1.3.1.3 of the work programme) c) Sustainable surface transport - Re-balancing and integrating different transport modes (objective 3 of the work programme), research domains 3.3 3.9 3.10 and 3.13 - Increasing road, rail and waterborne safety and avoiding traffic congestion (objective 4 of the work programme), research domains 4.1 and 4.3 In specifying the instruments to be used in these areas, the call requests the use of integrated projects, specific targeted research projects, coordination actions and specific support actions.
