CORDIS offers full coverage of INTAS projects
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is offering comprehensive descriptions of projects financed by INTAS. INTAS is an independent international association formed by the European Community, the Member States and other countries acting to preserve and promote the valuable scientific potential of the New Independent States (NIS) of the former Soviet Union through scientific cooperation on the basis of mutual benefit. More than 1,000 new descriptions of projects carried out since 1997 have been added in the CORDIS Project database. Each record provides a general description of the project, key data, links when available as well as contact details. Supported activities cover physical science, chemical/biological sciences, human sciences and mathematics. Most initiatives embraced the challenges of the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) and key results will be further promoted. Examples range from infra-red lasers to medical applications, new GRID tools, technology for space robots and studies on socio-cultural aspects and the Silk route. New funding opportunities will be published by mid-March 2003. Consultation of the CORDIS Projects database will enable potential applicants to search for previous research projects in specific fields and to avoid duplication. It is also a key tool for identifying potential partners with prior experience and offers a good overview of the European cooperation with countries such as Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Moldova.
