The European Commission has published a call for applications for the establishment of the second chamber of experts of the eEurope 2005 steering group. The objective of the eEurope 2005 steering group is to advise the Commission on the implementation of the eEurope 2005 Action Plan. The group comprises two chambers; the first chamber composed of one or two representatives from each Member State at director general level, and the second chamber, which may be composed of up to 40 members, representing high level expertise from the private sector or civil society in areas of key importance to the eEurope Action Plan. The applicants selected will help the Commission and the first chamber (through their observations) to define concrete priorities in relation to the eEurope 2005 Action Plan. Consequently they will contribute actively to achieving the objectives set out in the Commission's communication, 'eEurope 2005:an information Society for all.' In the assessment of the applications for the second chamber, the Commission will take into consideration the following criteria: - proven abilities in fields relevant to the Information Society; - capacity to contribute to issues relevant to the eEurope 2005 Action Plan; - the need for balanced composition in terms of geographical origin, the functions of businesses or bodies concerned with business life, social interest groups (e.g. consumers, industry, services etc.).To see the full text, please click here(odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)
