Chinese delegation introduced to the opportunities offered by CORDIS
A delegation from the China-EU S&T (science and technology) cooperation office (CECO), eager to increase participation by Chinese researchers in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), paid a visit to CORDIS on 13 February in order to learn more about the opportunities offered by the service. The European Commission is keen to encourage the participation of non-European countries in FP6, and CORDIS therefore provides a database of contacts in third countries. The listed persons and organisations are able to give assistance to potential participants in third countries, as well as to organisations from Member and Associated States looking for partners in third countries. China has embraced this opportunity, and details of CECO have now been included in the database. The CECO representatives were eager to introduce Chinese researchers to FP6, learn more about forming consortia with researchers within the EU, and to find out about the opportunities offered by CORDIS.
