In the context of the PPHHEQ project, concerning the production, transport and end use of hydrogen produced from hydro-electricity at low cost, the Commission calls for the participation of Community national organizations and industries in research relating to: Exploitation of hydrogen vehicles in different European towns; potential use in air propulsion; use in the working of steel; combined electricity, heat and drinking water production; a large-scale study of technologies for hydrogen storage. A total European Communities allocation of ECU 7.8 million is envisaged.Details are available from:
