Call for proposals - science education and careers 2004
The European Commission has published a call for proposals for 'Science and society - science education and careers' under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The call relates to: - Actions for introducing new science teaching methods into primary school curricula (e.g. hands-on experience; promotion of science culture) in collaboration with national or regional education authorities taking into account where appropriate teacher training programmes. The activities funded should include the dissemination and implementation across Europe of successful national initiatives or best practice. - Actions aimed at increasing the number of young people from 'disadvantaged or underperforming' groups entering careers in science. The focus is on science education as well as on lowering barriers (either perceived or real) that prevent such young people from orienting themselves towards science careers, and on the dissemination of experience and best practice across Europe. - Actions aimed at reinforcing links between universities and schools and school teachers and science-based organisations, industry and commerce in order to strengthen the education to employment transition through joint science-based projects such as outreach activities, training activities, summer schools etc where there is a distinct international dimension.To see the full details of the call, please consult the following web address: http://fp6.cordis.lu/fp6/call_details.cfm?CALL_ID=168(odnośnik otworzy się w nowym oknie)
