Proposed Leonardo da Vinci vocational training programme emphasizes importance of R&D
The European Commission has published an amended proposal for a Council Decision establishing an action programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy ("Leonardo da Vinci"). The amended proposal emphasizes the following: - Coordination and cooperation between the programme and the Fourth Framework Programme for research and development; - A specific training effort to increase women's skills in vocational training; - Access to vocational training for every worker in the Community; - A greater focus on foreign language learning; - Specific measures for young people who leave the educational system without adequate training; - Participation of the social partners.
