Commissioner Oreja attends Third International Energy Conference
Mr. Marcelino Oreja, Commissioner responsible for energy, delivered a speech at the Third International Energy Conference (Ministerial Conference of the Producing and Consuming Countries) in Cartagena, Spain, on 19 September 1994. Mr. Oreja noted that the level of dialogue between energy producers and consumers had reached a new level of maturity, allowing for a cooperative approach between the two partners. The Commissioner underlined that the aims of energy policy - competitiveness, security of supply and respect for the environment - can only be achieved by constant dialogue between partners.
