Consolidation of the European Communities-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation
A proposal for a Council Decision confirming the consolidation of the European Communities-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and its establishment as a common venture between the Community and Japan was submitted by the Commission on 12 June 1991 (COM(91) 193). Set up in 1986 as a pilot project with funding from the Community budget, MITI and private sponsors, the Tokyo-based Centre provides management training opportunities for European business executives, information on the Japanese business environment and opportunities, and programmes for European alternative- energy specialists. The proposed Decision is to take effect on the date of its publication.
