Telecommunications services for networks of local employment development initiatives
The European Commission, DG XIII, has published an open call for proposals for a study entitled "Supporting telecommunications services and applications for networks of local employment development initiatives". The aim of the study is to analyse the services and applications of collective interest in the area of telematic services in the job market, in particular with regard to local employment initiatives and EU action research programmes such as ELISE and LEDA, and propose strategies for establishing a new technical communications layer to increase the demand for, and supply of, new services and applications. The study should, notably, point out problems and needs, give examples of current use of services and applications in this field and examine new possibilities for telecommunications applications and services. The study should, in particular, include analysis of the following factors: - Existence of technical facilities, services and applications; - Use of existing facilities and services/applications; - Provision of information services by the local employment initiatives to their users; - Users of the services by local employment initiatives; - Difference between regions; - Existing cooperation patterns between local employment initiatives; - Training.
