Global environmental change and sustainable development in Europe: Workshop proceedings
The European Commission, DG XII, has published the proceedings of a workshop on "Global environmental change and sustainable development in Europe", held at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, Germany, in June 1994 (243 pages). The workshop was organized by the European Commission's Unit on Socio-Economic Environmental Research, DG XII, within the framework of the European Network for Research into Global Change (ENRICH). Its main aim was to identify critical research directions and policy-relevant issues with regard to the interactions between global environmental change and the socio-economic factors which influence sustainable development in Europe. The published proceedings include most of the papers presented and discussed at the workshop, as well as a summary of other contributions and discussions, a list of research priorities identified and a policy brief on the themes.
